Request Account & Data Deletion
This page explains how users of the StartOffice app can request deletion of their account and any personal data we hold. This applies to accounts created via the StartOffice mobile app or web platform.
How to Request Deletion
To request deletion of your account and associated data, send an email to our support team using the link below. Please include your registered email address and the name used on your account so we can locate your records.
Email support@startoffice.coSteps to submit your request:
- Click the email button above or open your email client.
- Send the email from the address registered to your StartOffice account.
- Include your full name as it appears in the app.
- Our team will verify your identity and send a confirmation within 5 business days.
What Data Is Deleted
Upon a confirmed deletion request, the following data tied to your account will be permanently removed:
- ✓Your user profile (name, email, profile picture)
- ✓Login credentials and authentication tokens
- ✓Notification preferences and device tokens
- ✓Activity tracking data and session history
- ✓Personal messages sent through the platform
- ✓Task assignments and comments authored by you
What Data May Be Retained
Certain data may be retained for a limited period as required by law or legitimate business purposes:
- !Billing and payment records — retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance.
- !Anonymised usage analytics that cannot be linked back to you.
- !Organisation-level records (e.g. tasks, projects) where your identity has been anonymised — retained at the discretion of your organisation admin.
Retention Period
After your deletion request is confirmed, your personal data will be fully removed from our active systems within 30 days. Backups containing your data are purged on a rolling 90-day cycle. Retained records (billing/legal) are held for the statutory period noted above and then deleted.
